The Role:
As a member of our Policy team, you will help to develop Trust policy positions, particularly looking at specific species and land management practices which will deliver multiple nature-based solutions across our topic and project areas (such as Living Landscapes, Riverwoods and the rainforest zone) and the wider landscape. We will also use these polices to influence the development of Scottish Government policies on issues such as species conflict, translocation and reintroduction and wildlife and habitat management.
This role would be ideal for someone looking for a route to build experience in the conservation sector or for someone with experience looking to flexibly reengage with the sector.
This will be a 9-month fixed term role as a maternity cover for the current post holder.
The candidate will ideally...
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about Scotland’s species and habitats
- Be able to understand and communicate the nature-based solutions that we can derive from species specific interventions.
- Have a knowledge of the policy and political landscape and be keen to produce outputs which will positively influence this for the benefit of nature
