Rewilding and Reintroductions: 2-Week Residential Learning Experience
Step into the Wild: Shape the Future of Nature Recovery
Are you passionate about wildlife, nature, and the future of our planet? Looking to gain hands-on experience, explore the theory behind rewilding and species reintroductions, and recharge in a stunning countryside setting?
Join Ambios this summer for an immersive 2-week residential experience at our nature recovery centre and rewilding site, based on the beautiful Sharpham Estate in the River Dart Valley. This unique programme combines expert-led learning, field trips to active rewilding sites, regenerative farming in action, and hands-on conservation work — all designed to give you the insight, inspiration, and skills to contribute meaningfully to the rewilding movement.
What You’ll Experience
- Rewilding in Practice – Experience the day-to-day reality of rewilding on the ground. See how letting nature lead has transformed, and is continuing to help the land recover on the Sharpham Estate, and discover how this approach ties into broader efforts to heal our ecosystems.
- Species Reintroductions – Dive into the exciting world of bringing back lost species. Learn what's missing from our landscapes and why it matters. Explore the science, ethics, and logistics of species reintroduction and ecological restoration.
- Regenerative Farming – Get to grips with how we can farm with nature, not against it. Learn from those pioneering nature-friendly food production that supports biodiversity, tackles climate change, and still feeds a growing population.
- Field Trips – Visit local rewilding projects and witness nature recovery in action across Devon. Compare approaches, landscapes, and outcomes — and gather inspiration for your own journey.
- Workshops & Talks – From gut health and food fermentation to project management and sustainable business models, we’ll explore how rewilding connects not just to ecosystems but to personal wellbeing and resilient futures.
- Rural Community Life – Immerse yourself in life on a working farm; live in community, share meals, take part in daily tasks, connect with like minded folk and step out of the hustle and bustle of modern life. Experience a slower rhythm of life that reconnects you with nature, people, and purpose.

About Ambios
Ambios is a not-for-profit nature conservation training organisation. We deliver nature recovery traineeships and projects, that aim to develop skills and learning, and progress people towards their goals working with nature.
We run a 130-acre working farm on the Sharpham Estate in South Devon. Here trainees gain practical skills and hands-on experiences with an emphasis on nature recovery.
Managing the land in this way allows us to reprioritise and reconnect with the world around us by reinstating self-regulating landscapes and understanding nature’s needs.
