‘Volunteering with the learning team is a wonderful opportunity to help the next generation learn new things (and I do too!), as well as giving me my own time in nature which is an important part of my wellbeing’ Madi, Volunteer

Are you looking to upskill, give back to your community or spend time in a wonderful outdoor setting? Whatever your reason, then we may just have the opportunity for you.

We are now recruiting Learning Team Volunteers to join our teams at three of our beautiful environmental education centres in Berks and Bucks. We currently have opportunities available at:

  • College Lake Environmental Education Centre, Tring, Buckinghamshire, HP23 5QG
  • Windsor Great Park Environmental Centre, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 2BY
  • Woolley Firs Environmental Education Centre, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3LJ*

Own transport needed to get to the various education centres – Note some have secure bicycle storage*

The Learning Team Volunteers support our work with pre-school, primary children, families and adults to explore a variety of wildlife themed programmes and activities on our various sites.

This role involves indoor and outdoor work, both physical and administrative. Tasks include helping with resource making, setting up and down sessions across the reserve, cleaning equipment, supporting staff during delivery of educational sessions (with schools, rangers, nature tots, family and adult events) and possibly some administrative tasks.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers who will have experience with or a passion to engage and excite children and families about nature. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential as training will be given. The role would suit someone who enjoys the outdoors and interacting with a range of people including toddlers, young children and adults. Please note the ability to work outdoors in all weathers and confidently maneuver on uneven, rough terrain is essential.
