Large Mammal Specialist

Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes across 13 countries worldwide.

We are currently recruiting large mammal specialists to work at various locations across South & Central America, Africa, Europe & Asia. Positions will be from five to eight consecutive weeks between June and early August, and information about all our sites is available on the website.

There are two separate potential skill sets needed for the role of large mammal specialists; experience with camera tracking, and experience with tracks and signs. Some of our expeditions require both, some require one or the other; please specify in your application where your experience lies.

Applicants should have experience of working in the field with a biological undergraduate degree level or higher or equivalent experience. Experience of conducting similar work with large mammals would be ideal, but most important is a desire to learn and enthusiasm for conducting field work in remote locations.
