About the role and the team
As part of recent changes to our team structure, we are seeking a full-time Head of Europe to join our Strategic Advocacy team. This position, based in the UK, is critical to advancing our CCS and carbon management efforts across the European region.
As Head of Europe, you will leverage your CCS policy and regulatory experience and expertise to lead and collaborate with a team of experts to drive the rapid deployment of CCS. You will play a pivotal role in developing market insights, establishing and growing strategic partnerships, understanding local landscapes and positioning the Institute as a leader in CCS across this region.
Your Contribution and Impact
- Lead with purpose: Manage and mentor a dedicated team, fostering growth, performance, and cross-function collaboration.
- Drive regional strategy: Define priorities, identify opportunities, and lead business development activities across Europe.
- Build strong partnerships: Engage with existing members and stakeholders, establish and grow new members, to understand their needs and deliver clear, strategic value.
- Deliver high-impact projects: Support the delivery of funded projects under the consortia model.
- Bring your expertise to the table: Contribute expertise to client engagements or technical deliverables.
- Collaborate and connect: Work across internal teams and with international partners to align efforts and share insights. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on project outcomes.
- Shape the conversation: Represent the Institute at major events, and help drive thought leadership through published reports, blogs, or insights.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated leadership experience supported by strategic problem-solving. You will have a confident approach in alignment with the Institute’s core Values: Integrity, Quality and Collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have the following background or skills:
- Current and sound understanding and experience with CCS policy and regulations across Europe.
- A strategic planner with the ability to think innovatively to drive initiatives or projects that support the Institute’s goals.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including sound influential presentation skills.
- High stakeholder engagement capabilities, including strategic relationship building.
- Established network across CCS community within Europe and/or globally
