Monmouthshire County Council is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable leader to provide expert biodiversity and ecological advice, shaping Green Infrastructure policies and approaches that drive real environmental impact. As the Nature Recovery Team Lead, you will coordinate nature recovery planning, oversee green infrastructure delivery, and ensure statutory obligations are met in biodiversity enhancement, ecosystem resilience, and conservation. As part of the Green Infrastructure Team our purpose is to support resilient, living and active environments for all. Our focus is on enabling health, activity, ecosystem and economic benefits. To achieve this we take a Green Infrastructure (GI) approach based around multiple benefits, multi-disciplinary and partnership working, wide involvement, volunteering and engagement.

The Purpose of this Role: 

You will lead the provision of professional support and expert advice on ecological and biodiversity matters, including line management of the Nature Recovery Team. The post will give you the opportunity to develop your skills based on your existing knowledge and gain a breadth of experience including managing contracts and team management. Good ecological knowledge and an appropriate degree level qualification are essential.
