Job Purpose

We are looking for dedicated and driven Project Manager to head up the development of our activity in Herefordshire. With strong development and networking skills you will be an in-person presence across the county, working with partners to support communities facing the impact of the energy crisis and making the transition to net zero.

You will train and mentor community groups to provide energy advice in their communities, building their skills and connecting them to specialist help where needed. Whilst this role has primarily a community focus, there will be occasions where assistance is required to support householders with advice directly in their home or over the phone.

As part of a major new project, you will work closely with staff undertaking similar roles in Shropshire & Derbyshire. You will build on existing project activity in Herefordshire, and the post-holder will require strong networking and development skills to make and build on connections across the county.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage delivery of advice services in Herefordshire – including home visits, events and other activities
  • Develop partnerships and connections and nurture existing relationships e.g. with the Council, Housing Associations, community groups etc.
  • Identify new opportunities for work and develop and sustain new funding relationships
  • Build a network of Community Energy Champions by training community groups around Herefordshire. You will work with a range of groups and volunteers from those wishing to informally advise neighbours, family and friends, to those wishing to make a substantial, regular commitment. Groups may be motivated to improve people’s quality of life, reduce carbon emissions or both.
  • Organising and delivering energy training sessions in the community.
  • Supporting groups to provide advice in the community, for example helping them resource and promote drop-in energy advice sessions and mentoring and supporting these sessions.
  • Build a good knowledge of the support available to people, signposting and referring on as needed.
  • Provide high quality, tailored energy advice and support for vulnerable householders in Herefordshire.
  • Ensure the provision of excellent customer service and the highest levels of customer engagement are delivered to meet MEA standards.
  • Complete all necessary administrative requirements and record keeping, including completing accurate CRM records for all customer interactions.
  • Understand and work to meet funders requirements; for example, targets or record keeping ensuring funding claims are maximised.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety standards and requirements to ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues, volunteers and customers.
  • Undertake training where required to comply with MEA standards and further knowledge and skills.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.
