We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Engagement Officer to inspire communities across Powys and Bannau Brycheiniog to connect with nature through events and social media and help them discover and record the wildlife around them. You'll raise awareness of biological recording, work on projects that support new and experienced recorders and strengthen local knowledge of biodiversity. Through your work, you'll support our team to build a more informed and active recording community and contribute towards nature recovery across our area.

We seek someone who is comfortable with delivering talks and presentations and interacting with groups, can work independently, is keen to learn and is competent with office data management programs. The successful candidate will have an eye for detail and will communicate well. Organisational skills and high standards of accuracy will also be important attributes for this post. You will need to be a great communicator who is happy to interpret and present technical information to a range of audiences. You will need to demonstrate that you can devise and manage your own schedule of outreach activities and events, deliver talks and presentations, and engage new people in wildlife recording.

We are at the heart of the recording community in Powys and the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. We collaborate closely with volunteers, species experts, conservation NGO’s, Local Authorities, utility companies, researchers, ecological consultants and the other Welsh LERCs.

We support hybrid working; this role has an expectation of working two days a week from our Brecon office.
