Food, Farming & Horticulture

Surrey Docks Farm is a working city farm and education charity that enables the whole community to learn about farming, food production and the natural environment.

We deliver a range of community programmes targeted to engage those who would benefit most and are supported by hundreds of dedicated volunteers who attend on a weekly basis.

We are free to visit and open seven days a week, enabling people to see the Farm in action and purchase a range of fruit and vegetables, as well as eggs and meat grown or reared on site.

This is a new role that will be based at the Farm and report directly to the Farm Manager, providing the main welcoming point of contact for all enquiries, either via the phone, email or in person. The successful candidate will oversee the smooth running of the farm shop; manage and drive bookings for room hire and corporate volunteer days; as well as supporting all departments with project administration and promotion.

This is a part time post for 28 hours a week (Wednesday-Saturday) paid £28,000 pro rata.

We’re looking for a people-person who has a keen interest in farming and food production. The ideal candidate will bring excellent administration and organisation skills, with the ability to focus and manage priorities in a busy, lively environment.

We can offer you:

  • A friendly, creative and supportive team
  • A unique work environment, with livestock and gardens right next to the river Thames
  • Training and development opportunities
