Subcontractor management - Map coverage gaps, recruit and onboard new regional subcontractors, negotiate rates and hold regular performance reviews.

Process & efficiency - Run time‑and‑motion and route‑optimisation studies; redesign workflows to cut travel time, mileage and admin costs.

Data & reporting - Provide oversight and direction for the data analyst producing charger‑usage reports; use insights to drive service improvements.

Systems implementation - Lead the introduction of a service‑desk/ticketing system and mobile workforce platform; champion other tech that improves visibility and efficiency.

People leadership - Line‑manage a team of O&M coordinators and junior engineers: coaching, objectives, training plans and annual reviews.

Budget & commercials - Own O&M P&L, set budgets, approve purchase orders and track spend against targets.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3 + years managing multi‑site operations or maintenance in EV charging, utilities, fibre, telecoms or comparable field‑service environment.
  • Demonstrable success recruiting and managing subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Proven track record introducing new digital systems (e.g. Helpdesk, CMMS, route‑planning apps).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Electrically trained.
  • Experience with EV charger back‑office platforms (e.g. Monta, Swarco, Fuuse) and OCPP protocols.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Prince2, APM or similar project‑management qualification.
  • Familiarity with public‑sector frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Comfortable analysing large data sets and turning insight into action.

  5. Planned‑maintenance completion vs schedule.
  6. Cost per work order / budget adherence.

  • Salary: £ 50,000 – £ 55,000 (DOE)
  • 25 days holiday (increasing to 28 with level of service) + bank holidays
