About ABCAN

The Argyll & Bute Climate Action Network (ABCAN) is part of a national network of Climate Action Hubs funded by the Scottish Government. Led by Argyll Countryside Trust (ACT) in partnership with organisations from across Argyll and Bute, the hub aims to deliver locally relevant networking and support for community climate action. We connect groups, share learning, and offer practical help to get projects off the ground, from seed funding and training to events, resources and a new climate charter. It’s all about making it easier for local people to take action where they live.

About the role

We’re looking for a friendly and motivated person to join the ABCAN Team as our new Community Coordinator. This role focuses on supporting community groups across Argyll and Bute to take local climate action. You’ll be the main point of contact for groups in the network, whether they’re already involved in climate-related work or just starting out. You’ll help introduce new ideas, connect people to opportunities, and support projects through things like seed funding, carbon literacy training and a new climate charter scheme

It’s a varied role that includes a mix of relationship building, hands-on support, events and communications. You’ll be working closely with our wider ABCAN team, including engagement and communications staff, and have the chance to help shape how we grow and support the network over the next year.

You’ll need great project management and people skills, a good understanding of community-led action, and a passion for climate change, biodiversity, climate justice and the empowerment of communities.

Closing date: 12 noon, Monday 23 June 2025
