Kernow Conservation is a community interest company dedicated to restoring wildlife and biodiversity across Cornwall. Our work includes species recovery initiatives (notably water voles, ospreys, and beavers), habitat restoration, biodiversity monitoring, and community engagement. We collaborate with landowners, volunteers, and businesses to drive meaningful environmental change.
Our Wild Kernow Business Memberships and project sponsorships are vital in supporting our mission. These partnerships not only fund our conservation efforts but also help businesses engage with nature restoration and achieve their Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and personable Business Partnerships & Memberships Manager to lead the growth and management of our business engagement initiatives. This role is pivotal in expanding our network of business supporters, enhancing member experiences, and developing sponsorship opportunities aligned with our conservation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Membership Development: Identify and engage potential business members, presenting the benefits of partnership with Kernow Conservation.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and nurture relationships with existing business members by phone, email and in person, ensuring they receive regular updates and opportunities for involvement. This will include creating and delivering online and in person talks.
- Sponsorship Coordination: Develop and manage project sponsorship packages, aligning business interests with our conservation initiatives.
- Business Networking: Attending networking events to develop existing relationships, make new connections and raise awareness of our work.
- Event Planning: Organise and host events, such as project site visits and online talks, to engage current and prospective business partners.
- Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of strategies aimed at increasing business membership and sponsorship revenue.
Desirable Person Specification

- Proven experience in business development, partnerships, or membership coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently towards agreed plans and also as part of a team
- Passion for environmental conservation and alignment with Kernow Conservation's mission.
- Experience in the environmental or non-profit sector.
- Knowledge of Cornwall's business landscape and community networks.
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
