Carbon, Climate & Energy

Joining a Pioneering Publicly Owned Renewable Energy Developer

Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru, established by the Welsh Government in 2023, is driving forward Wales’ transition to a cleaner, greener future. Our mission is to accelerate the rollout of renewable energy projects across the Welsh public estate—primarily through onshore wind and solar PV—placing net zero and community benefits at the heart of this transformation.

Our ambitious goal? One gigawatt of locally owned, locally generated clean energy by 2040. More than just power, we’re generating revenue that will be reinvested in improving lives across Wales, creating high-quality green jobs, and fostering truly sustainable communities.

The current cost of living crisis underscores the essential role of energy in society. That’s why we’re committed to developing innovative models of benefit-sharing, ensuring our projects deliver meaningful and lasting improvements to the communities they serve.

Be Part of the Change

We are looking for a Technical Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting to the Technical Lead, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of a pipeline of renewable onshore energy projects. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Wales’ clean energy future from the ground up.

What we’re looking for

We want someone who’s passionate about sustainability, eager for a fresh challenge, and ready to make a real impact. To thrive in this role, you should ideally: Hold a degree in a relevant discipline OR have professional experience in the geospatial or renewable energy sector. Understand data management practices, including quality control and compliance with industry standards. Have practical experience using ESRI ArcGIS Professional software. Be familiar with web-based GIS or enterprise GIS technologies. Demonstrate continuous professional development (CPD). Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Bonus points if you have: An understanding of CAD or experience using CAD data. Experience with renewable energy analysis and design tools (e.g., WindPro, WindFarmer, PVsyst).
