Associate Programme Officer - Protected Planet

We are seeking an Associate Programme Officer – Protected Planet, to join our Nature Conserved team. The role will contribute to the successful delivery of UNEP-WCMC’s suite of projects relating to the Protected Planet Initiative.
Key areas of responsibility include supporting the development and growth of global databases on protected and conserved areas, including the World Database on Protected Areas, amongst others. This will include liaison with data providers, data processing and spatial data analysis, synthesis of information and report writing. The successful applicant will have strong technical skills, including in data analysis, the use of GIS and ideally coding skills, as well as a meticulous approach to quality control in order to process and input data into relevant databases.
This position will give you the opportunity to contribute to a portfolio of high-profile and innovative projects relating to protected and conserved areas, where your work will really make a difference in the field of conservation.
This position is not suitable for visa sponsorship.
This is not a United Nations Post. This position is with the charity WCMC, working in collaboration with UNEP.
