Sustainable Land Management Advisor

Location: Hybrid – home working and Forth Rivers Trust office (Edinburgh),
with regular travel across the Forth catchment
Contract: Full-time (40 hours/week), Fixed-term for 12 months with opportunity
to extend dependent on funding.
Requirements: Full Clean Driving license. Right to work in the UK.

Forth Rivers Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to protecting and improving rivers, wildlife, and communities across the Forth District. We deliver projects that support climate resilience, biodiversity, and sustainable land use by working in partnership with land managers, communities, and public and private sector organisations.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sustainable Land Management Advisor to work in and expand our land advice services across the catchment, an integral role within Forth Rivers Trust that will drive positive land use and land management for nature and businesses in the catchment.
The Sustainable Land Management Advisor will work in a variety of projects in the catchment with emphasis on the Leven and Forth catchments. They will be working closely with farmers and land managers, on a one-to-one and group setting, to discuss, promote and provide advice on implementing nature-friendly and climate-resilient land management practices that bring environmental benefits whilst supporting thriving businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery and development of Forth Rivers Trust’s land advice service.
- Provide tailored advice on sustainable land management practices to farmers and landowners.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of nature-based solutions and catchment-wide initiatives.
- Coordinate & facilitate workshops, farm visits, and advisory events.
- Capture and report on environmental outcomes using data, GIS, and CRM systems.
- Assist in securing future funding for land-based work and new service offers.
- Monitor developments in natural capital and ecosystem services assessment and share insights to inform best practice within the team.
