Anglian Water is looking for a dedicated Biosecurity Advisor to lead our efforts in managing INNS and enhancing biosecurity across our operations. What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement Anglian Water’s Biosecurity Plan, Policy, and Rapid Response Plan.
  • Lead risk assessments to prioritise invasive species management and biosecurity investments.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of biosecurity infrastructure across operational and recreational sites.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and deliver INNS-related obligations under WINEP.
  • Design and deliver awareness campaigns, training, and events to promote good biosecurity practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Biodiversity Champions to embed biosecurity into daily operations.
  • Represent Anglian Water in national INNS forums and lead regional partnership projects.
  • Drive research and innovation in INNS monitoring, control, and data recording.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators, NGOs, and contractors to support shared environmental goals.
  • Promote a culture of health, safety, and continuous improvement in all biosecurity-related activities.
What does it take to be successful?
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of INNS identification, pathways, and impacts
  • Experience applying risk assessment for environmental decision-making
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Fieldwork experience in environmental or ecological settings
  • Knowledge of UK conservation legislation and biosecurity best practices
  • Takes initiative and speaks up for what’s right
  • Shares knowledge and learns from experience
  • Shows empathy and supports team wellbeing
  • Embraces innovation and continuous improvement
  • Full UK Driving licence due to travel required within the role
