Public Rights of Way Senior Officer (Definitive Map and Technical)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Rights of Way and Country Parks team at Devon County Council. We are recruiting for a Senior Officer to lead our definitive map and technical team, playing a key part in managing one of the UK’s most popular rights of way and access networks.
With excellent opportunities to work flexibly, you will lead a team of specialist officers based from our Exeter office, helping to support and deliver for health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic vitality.
Educated to degree level and/or with significant training and development in public rights of way and access management, you will have wide ranging relevant experience, and a proven ability to problem solve, negotiate, and innovate.
Key areas of focus include making sure that the legal record of public rights of way is accurate, up-to-date, and publicly available; developing and implementing policies, processes, and guidance to safeguard and enhance public rights of way; and implementing initiatives and projects to achieve access improvements.
