Conservation Training Manager
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Conservation Training Manager to lead and expand our global training programme. This pivotal role will oversee the management of our Conservation Training Teams and our global programme of work, spanning Jersey, Madagascar, Mauritius, and potential new rewilding sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the global conservation training programme, ensuring its alignment with Durrell's vision of rewilding the world.
- Oversee the delivery of high-impact training programmes for conservation professionals and staff at our rewilding sites and headquarters in Jersey.
- Collaborate with local staff across departments to ensure that training initiatives are effectively tailored and delivered at each location.
- Develop new training courses and explore innovative training mediums, such as digital platforms or immersive technologies, to scale our training impact globally.
- Drive the optimisation and growth of the global training programme to ensure continuous improvement and reach.
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience in conservation training or education, with a passion for professional development in the sector.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and support teams across multiple global locations.
- Strong understanding of conservation challenges and strategies, with practical experience in training conservation professionals.
- Expertise in course development, delivery, and evaluation, with a focus on innovative approaches to learning.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
Willingness to be based in Jersey (preferable) or UK with regular travel to Jersey and other training locations.
