Birchfield Community Association (Registered Charity: 1193147), located at Wilton Road United Reformed Church, 13 Wilton Road, Handsworth, is seeking an Energy Adviser.
The Energy Adviser role focuses on offering energy-saving advice and support to households in the Birchfield area of Birmingham. The primary goal is to help residents reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions, save money, and address fuel poverty. Responsibilities include providing energy advice at our community hub, conducting outreach sessions, making home visits, and encouraging residents to become Community Champions.
Position Details:
- Full-time (35 hours per week)
- Fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027
- Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide light-touch energy-saving advice at workshops and events
- Offer in-depth face-to-face and telephone advice by appointment
- Conduct home advice visits
- Assist residents with related issues that are integral to their cases and refer them to other agencies when necessary
- Help recruit Community Champions
Training in energy awareness will be provided.
Your success in this role will result in more people living in warmer, more comfortable homes, experiencing reduced costs and carbon emissions, and enjoying better health.
This position is part of a collaboration among ten community-focused organisations that collectively form Birmingham Community Action Network - Energy (B:CAN-Energy), funded by the Energy Redress Scheme.
