Traidhos Three-Generation Barge Program
The Head of Traidhos Barge Program leads the international Barge staff team, supporting educational facilitators and office staff in the day to day running, training, delivery and long-term planning of the Program. The Head of Barge is based in Bangkok.
The Head of Barge reports to the Traidhos Head of Community and works closely with the Head of Community to manage and develop the mission and vision of the Program.
The day to day workload is split between teaching and leading in the field on trips, and office management of staff, documents and program. The initial contract is ideally for three years subject to a satisfactory 3 month probationary period.
The successful applicant will:
- Be experienced in managing staff and facilitating education programs in an EE Program, Forest School team or similar experiential learning Program.
- Be seeking international experiences to develop as a practitioner and to grow your portfolio.
- Be able to manage and develop an outstanding team of educators in a small Environmental education program, mindful of the culture of the host country. (approx. 10 people in the team)
- Able to multi-task to be able to oversee the day to day tasks and on-going needs of this busy program, including budgets and long – term planning.
- Be approachable when managing staff and be skilled in identifying and growing the potential of each team member.
- Maintain effective working relationships with program staff and participant students and teachers especially amongst the Bangkok International Schools
- Carry out regular appraisals with staff to support the continued development of staff and program.
- Demonstrate an understanding of strategic planning and the creative ability to input a plan with connections to both Thailand and Global issues to develop our mission and our priority to provide educational field trips
- Demonstrate skills in supporting staff to create age-appropriate activities and programmes in line with the program ethos.
- Oversee the on-going maintenance of all documents including risk assessments as we work towards ISO 31031
- Be committed to the Program and willing to be contacted outside of regular working hours
- Be willing and able to live in Bangkok
- Oversee any on-going marketing activity using website and social media channels in conjunction with the Traidhos Marketing lead.

- Able to communicate in Thai language, previous time spent in Thailand or similar
- Current knowledge of school safe-guarding policies
- Current first aid and life-saving qualifications
- Previous experience in senior management
- Teaching qualification
