About the role

We are seeking a StreetScene Arborist to undertake all aspects of tree work. This is a varied role in a small team looking after East Devon District Council’s tree stock throughout the district. The role will include tree planting, hedge cutting / hedge reductions, coppicing, felling, dismantles, rigging, reductions, pollarding, veteranisation, stump grinding, crown lifts and emergency call out work. The working hours are 37 / week Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3:30pm.

About you

You will need to work well as part of a team and have a good understanding of all areas of tree work. We require a competent experienced Arborist. You must have CS30(Chainsaw maintenance + Cross cut timber), CS31(Fell + process trees up to 380mm), CS38(Access a tree using rope + harness + carry out aerial rescue) and CS39 (Use of a chainsaw from rope + harness). It would be desirable if you also have CS40 (Aerial pruning), CS41(Rigging), CS32 (Fell + process trees over 380mm), MEWP, Chapter 8, Chipper, First Aid(+F) and Level 2 in Forestry + Arboriculture. A valid driver’s licence is essential, and a category BE, C1, C1E or C driving licence (or B licence issued prior to Jan 1997) would be a distinct advantage.
