World Land Trust (WLT)

The World Land Trust is an international conservation organisation which takes direct action to save rainforest and other threatened habitats.

Since 1989, WLT has saved acres of threatened habitat and its wildlife by raising funds to purchase land for conservation. WLT works with a network of in-country partners and works closely with these organisations to identify key areas for land purchase and raise funds for this purpose. The ownership of the land is ultimately vested in our project partners who manage the land as permanent wildlife reserves.

In addition to land purchase WLT also runs an Ecosystem Services Programme including a Carbon Balanced Programme, and carries out a variety of education and outreach activities.

Based in Halesworth, Suffolk, WLT employs a small team to fulfil its donor and web management, finances, communications and project participation. WLT look for staff, interns and occasionally volunteers who are qualified in their particular area of expertise or are wanting to learn more about project management, share an enthusiasm for conservation and the natural environment and want to live in a rural town in East Suffolk.
