Exmoor Mires Project

Working for Exmoor Mires Project

The Exmoor Mires Project is a not-for-profit NGO and is a partnership project including local groups and landowners. Its focus is on restoring the hydrological functions (water quality and water supply) of the peatlands on Exmoor. This also has benefits for climate and wildlife. It is important for the Project to raise awareness and understanding of the multiple benefits functioning peatlands have in the environment and therefore the importance of restoration. This is achieved through an extensive outreach programme, including walks, talks, school engagement and public education events.
