Environmental Funders Network

The UK Environmental Funders Network (EFN) was founded in 2003 and to date has brought together 150 trusts, foundations and other funding entities that support environmental and conservation initiatives. EFN has also been breaking new ground in mapping patterns of foundation funding (see the Where the Green Grants Went series of reports) and also the distribution of civil society capacity on specific environmental issues (see Saving The Rainforests: Civil Society Mapping and the Food Issues Census). These reports are available on www.greenfunders.org. EFN has close links to counterpart networks such as the Environmental Grantmakers Association (www.ega.org) in the United States and the European Environmental Funders Group that is managed by the European Foundation Centre.

Our mission is to increase the overall level of financial support for environmental causes and to help environmental philanthropy to be as effective as it can be.
