Course: Introduction to Identifying Trees in Summer
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
This hands-on workshop will teach you how to recognise different tree species with trees in full leaf. Your tutor will lead you through the basics of tree identification, from bark patterns to twig shapes and leaf patterns, as well as site and environmental factors which favour certain species. This is a great opportunity to enhance your ecological knowledge, and grow your appreciation for the beauty of trees in all seasons.
Level: Beginner/little or no previous experience
About your tutor:
This course will be run by Simon Lowe, Training Officer at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. He has over twenty years of experience planning and leading work parties and managing volunteers in the conservation sector alongside delivering practical and theoretical training in a broad range of traditional habitat management skills. He has a particular specialism in woodland management and regularly delivers training on behalf of the National Forest Company.
