Are you passionate about nature and eager to make a real difference? Step into a world of rewilding, conservation, and ecological learning with our transformative Nature Recovery courses. Whether you're looking to kickstart a career in nature recovery or deepen your connection to the natural world, our immersive experiences offer the perfect opportunity.

This summer you can join one of three 2-week experiences looking at specific elements of nature recovery or sign up to the full 8-week traineeship and experience it all. The Summer of Nature Recovery (2 week experience or 8 week traineeship) consists of a combination of talks, courses, presentations, workshops, practical tasks, surveys and field trips.

The teaching will give you an in-depth insight and experience of the nature recovery movement in the UK, and you will be part of an immersive and unique learning experience, allowing you to gain the crucial skills to fast-track your career options, or deepen a personal interest in nature.

8-week traineeship:

Summer of Nature Recovery (Jul 21st - Sept 12th)

Across 8 weeks you will take part in all the 2-week themes, giving you a comprehensive overview of the nature recovery movement. You will gain skills relevant to working in the nature sector, deepen your knowledge, and improve your confidence. You’ll be based on our wildlife-friendly farm and rewilding site on the Sharpham Estate in South Devon. The training is embedded in Ambios’ nature recovery work, helping you build a wealth of first-hand experience indispensable in developing a future working for wildlife.

Our 2-week options this summer are:

Landscapes and Rivers (Jul 21st – Aug 1st)

Join a voyage following the outstanding River Dart from its origin on the high moors to its release to the sea. You will explore hidden gems and various habitats, and learn about the ecology, geology, and cultural significance of this iconic landscape.

Rewilding and Reintroductions (Aug 4th – Aug 15th)

We will explore the background to reintroducing missing wild species, helping you to envisage a different, wilder future. You will also experience practical approaches to nature recovery through learning about our rewilding at Sharpham.

Nature and Wildlife (Aug 18th – Aug 29th)

You will develop your confidence in how to identify and interpret nature including birds and wild mammals through expert teaching. You will also look at the world of plants and their medicinal, cultural, and edible properties.

You will also be encouraged to live sustainably during your time with us, helping in our organic garden, farm, and shared community life.

This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, supported by a team of wildlife professionals. Ambios, with its 30-year legacy, offers a team of professional scientists, land managers, and conservation educators ready to enhance your learning and placement experience with their diverse expertise.
