Board Members

The Art and Energy Collective

Devon and Remote

Volunteer • Part Time

Sectors: carbon, climate & energy, sustainability

Closing date: Friday, 9th September 2022

Art and Energy are looking to expand their Board and welcome a number of new Board Members to work closely with the organisation as we continue to design high quality, impactful, participatory art activities to help people appreciate the energy systems that affect our lives.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who recognise the value of creativity in improving people's lives as well as those who love the natural world. You will be interested in exploring how culture can evolve to meet people and the planet's needs in the face of our changing climate. We aim to banish barriers and to work in between sectors.

We are looking for board members with a wide range of experiences including; finance and accountancy, culture change, participatory art, public engagement, ecology, biodiversity, electrical engineering, carbon, sustainable and community energy, eco-anxiety and well being, social enterprise and business development. Your skills and experience are more important to us than previous Board Member experience.

Being a Board Member at Art and Energy CIC brings an opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening a fledgling organisation. It is a chance to join a debate, share ideas and gain valuable experience.

The current make-up of the Board of Trustees is predominantly white, women and non-disabled. We believe strongly that ART and ENERGY CIC will be strengthened by diversity. We especially welcome applications from those who bring difference regardless of their experience of Board Member work.

We are Devon based but would welcome Board Members from further afield. We hold quarterly board meetings which you can attend remotely and hope you will have some time to engage with our work and activities away from the meetings.

If you’d like to chat about the role before applying or have any questions then please get in touch - we’d love to hear from you!

Deadline for applications: Friday 9th September 2022.
