Are you passionate about preserving the world’s forests and ecosystems, fighting climate change and building resilient communities?
We’re RAIN (Regenerative Agroforestry Impact Network), a non-profit charity catalysing community-led reforestation and ecosystem restoration efforts in the UK and Brazil.
We have an opportunity to be part of our Trees of Music project and bridge the worlds of classical music and reforestation. The Pernambuco tree, used for centuries to create violin bows, is critically endangered. Deforestation in the Atlantic Forest has wreaked havoc on Pernambuco populations, with 93% of the forest now lost and fewer than 2,000 Pernambuco trees left in the wild.
Our project in Brazil is establishing nurseries and working with local communities to replant the Pernambuco Tree.
The aim of your role will be to:
This is an opportunity to breathe life into a beautiful project. You’ll be given the freedom to take action to draw the classical music world into taking action on climate change. Passion, commitment and creativity is more important than experience for this role. You’ll have the support of the RAIN team and the ToM associates.
We’d love someone who is keen to take this on and gain great experience in project management. We’re therefore looking for someone who can offer one day a week (split over two days if you’d prefer), for a minimum of 2 months.
All the team work from home, and stay in contact through email, whatsapp and have regular meetings via video.
If this role sounds right for you, please send us an email ([email protected]) with your CV and a little bit about why you’d be great for this role.
