If you have a passion to help protect our landscape and wild places and want to develop skills
in conservation management, then this role might be for you. The South Devon Countryside covers
8000 acres of nationally important land comprising a variety of habitats including
SSSIs, woodland, coastal heathland and farmland. As an immersive volunteer you will support the
ranger team and will be out in all weathers undertaking a wide variety of practical
conservation tasks, access maintenance and engaging with visitors.
You will have the
opportunity to develop a variety of practical estate and habitat management skills, help
deliver important wildlife survey work and receive both on the job and formal training. As part
of this immersive role you can volunteer for up to 30 hours a week over a maximum period of 12
months.
