Why do we need you?

The Lighthouse at Spurn has underwent a major restoration project and is now a Heritage must see for visitors to the area. The Lighthouse tells the story of Spurn through beautifully crafted interpretation story boards and also has a fabulous audio visual experience for visitors to enjoy. The story of Spurn spans across five floors and will enable visitors to get a glimpse into the past of this unique place; the journey concludes at the top of lighthouse where visitors will get a chance to see what Spurn is like from the top of the Lighthouse. We are looking for volunteers who can help bring the story of Spurn to life while our visitors are taking a look around.

What will you be doing?

You will inspire and interact with our visitors while they are in the Lighthouse by bringing the story of Spurn to life through talking to them and sharing knowledge about the history and changing landscape that is Spurn today.

You will move around the floors of the Lighthouse and be on hand to answer any questions visitors may have and monitor numbers. Part of this role will be to collect entrance fees so you must be happy with handling money and welcoming visitors.

Making sure visitors are well informed about potential hazards of tides and weather are also a key part of this role, plus keeping the Lighthouse free of any litter that could be a fire hazard.

Helping to ranger the site whilst travelling down to Lighthouse - keeping our visitor safe and helping them enjoy their visit.
