Dynamic Dunescapes is an ambitious project, rejuvenating some of England & Wales' most important sand dunes for people, communities and wildlife.

The project is using pioneering conservation techniques in dune management, so we are able to offer some exciting research and conservation opportunities for students and researchers.

We have created several student research project opportunities in Cumbria. The research projects have been designed to directly help to inform sand dune management and understanding of important specialist dune species. Successful applicants will be awarded £250 and have the opportunity to work alongside other leading environmental bodies. The projects may be undertaken for a dissertation or as an additional research project to develop skills and employment opportunity.

To find out more about each opportunity and how to apply, please visit

Deadline for applications is 29th March.

The student research bursary scheme is offered as part of Dynamic Dunescapes, a partnership project restoring sand dunes for the benefit of wildlife, people and communities in England and Wales. Dynamic Dunescapes is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the EU LIFE Programme. The project is a partnership between Natural England, Plantlife, National Trust, Natural Resources Wales and the Wildlife Trusts.
