Position: Green Pathways Volunteer
Reporting to: Green Pathways Learning Officer
Hours: Commitment to at least 2 hours a week
Location: Peterborough & Fenlands

Green Pathways is an ecotherapy style project that seeks to connect young people with their local green spaces for the benefit of wildlife and the community. The project works with children and young people who are disadvantaged or vulnerable. The project develops their confidence, wildlife knowledge and conservation skills.

Green Pathways volunteers will support sessions with young people. The Learning Officer will arrange, plan and deliver sessions. As a volunteer, you will assist with the delivery of the project. Green Pathways Volunteers may occasionally help with admin and preparation. As well as, occasionally supporting at public engagement events.

Principle duties:

  • Assisting delivering Green Pathways sessions.
  • Assisting with delivering public engagement events.
  • Contributing to Froglife‚Äôs communications outputs.
  • To act as a responsible ambassador for Froglife.

Skills Required:

  • Confidence when working with teenagers as some of our young people may exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Part of this role is active, practical and outdoor so you will need to be comfortable working in all weathers using tools and gardening equipment.
  • Some knowledge of UK wildlife, including amphibians and reptiles, would be advantageous.
  • Some of the sites used for our project are not accessible by public transport so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous, although not essential.
