Volunteer Officer – Outdoor Learning

This position is based at our 10-acre site in Stourton - South Leeds.

Many children miss out on the experience of outdoor play and learning, and we want to change that.

As an important member of our team, you will learn about the nature that flourishes here, how to take care of it, and pass on your enthusiasm on to others.

You will help deliver our programme of nature education, bushcraft, wild play days, and even help with wild camping adventures for children during the summer

We know that getting children outside can build confidence and inspire them to achieve things they never thought they could.

You don’t need any previous experience, but you must be keen to learn and try something new.

  • Join a friendly and supportive team who can help you gain new skills and support you to become a leader
  • Travel expenses up to £6.50 a day
  • A TCV training package worth over £1000 including training in education leadership, working with children, first aid, safeguarding, health & safety, risk assessment and environmental games
  • Branded clothing and protective equipment to keep you safe in your role

What we are looking for

  • We require people who can commit 3 or 4 days a week for 6 months to take advantage of this opportunity.
  • We can also accept people who are able to commit 4 days of outdoor learning and 1 day of practical site work a week.

How to apply

The deadline for applications is 10:00am Monday, 21st September 2020.

Interviews are planned for the week after.

To apply, visit our website and download an application form, or request one by email, and send it back completed before the deadline.
