Sectors: marine conservation, environmental education

Closing date: Monday, 31st August 2020

We aim to bring together the professional marine community and communities along the English Coast. We want to do this by having a host of marine scientists and professionals walk stretches of the English Coastal Path and give talks in the villages, towns and cities they pass through. The idea is that by the end of 2021 the entirety of the ECP will have been walked by the marine community, with talks delivered in more than 180 locations. This will be achieved by assigning interested individuals to the stretches they want to walk and mapping our endeavours on an interactive map. Apart from giving talks, participants can also blog about their walks, sharing pictures and impressions and thus introducing the English Coast, its beauty and the challenges it faces, to a wider digital public.

You will identify possible artistic collaborators to the Talking the Coast project. Collaborations can be virtual or coincide with local talks - your own creativity will determine the scope of possible partnerships! You will actively search for and reach out to possible collaborators and liaise with participating artists. You will report directly to the Director and assist them in choosing which artists we invite to get on board. You will develop enticements for artists to participate and liaise with our Grants Coordinator to identify ways to procure funds.

Requirements: You have a background in the arts and are passionate about the marine environment or vice versa. You have a keen eye for design, a keen ear for music and the ability to recognise artistic quality. You are creative and comfortable thinking outside of the box. You are friendly, outgoing and polite.
