With over 100,000 visitors a year, Bempton Cliffs is a very busy reserve. We deliver a range of 60-minute wildlife walks throughout the year and need walk leaders to help us do this. Subjects include butterflies, cultural history, puffins, geology, shipwrecks and cetaceans.

The skills you need

  • Approachable, with a friendly demeanour
  • Knowledge of how to use a telescope correctly and efficiently
  • Love of the outdoors
  • Knowledge of some RSPB work and a familiarity with Bempton Cliffs
  • Ability to walk along cliff top paths in all weathers
  • Own transport
  • Confidence to initiate conversations with and talk to members of the public
  • Experience of working with the public
  • Ability to communicate well and listen
  • Enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation
  • Willingness to learn and relay accurate information (which will be provided)
  • Willingness to undertake appropriate training and personal development
