Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, is inviting applications for three new Trustees to join its Trustee Board and a Director to join the Board of its trading arm, Living Streets Services. These are voluntary unpaid roles, with a maximum six year term, which are available due to impending retirements.

We face a climate emergency, toxic air pollution and a crisis in public health. Walking more and driving less is part of the solution. Living Streets aims to achieve a better walking environment and inspire people to walk more.

Founded in 1929, we are a growing modern organisation with an excellent reputation for evidence-based policy, innovative campaigning and award-winning projects. We have a team of over 80 staff around the UK. Our income puts us among the top 2 per cent of UK charities.

We are looking for people who have skills and experience at a senior strategic level, particularly in public health or commercial sector/social enterprise, an understanding of the principles and rules which govern UK charities and a connection or interest in walking and public spaces. Whatever your background, a commitment to the values and objectives of the charity will be crucial.

The Board of Trustees is keen to widen its diversity and we would welcome applications in particular from disabled people and people from a minority ethnic background. Living Streets is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk; and expects all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

If you think you're the right person to play an important role in supporting us through the next phase of our journey, then we'd like to hear from you.
