Are you looking for hands-on practical experience of working at a grass roots community level to promote energy efficiency and tackle fuel poverty? If so, volunteering to support our Energy Cafes in Croydon could be for you.

Here at South East London Community Energy (SELCE) we’re rolling out our innovative "Energy Cafe" approach to provide advice to residents on how to cut their energy bills and cut their carbon emissions while still staying warm and healthy. We'll be working In partnership with Croydon Council to run two advice sessions per week in New Addington, Croydon. You will assist our experienced energy advisor to help residents switch energy suppliers, access benefits and grants and refer them for home visits provided by Croydon Council. You will be needed for one full day's work and your travel and lunch expenses will be covered.

There’s a huge need for this scheme – 1 in 10 of UK households are unable to afford to stay warm and well, and you’ll be able to make a real difference to their lives. Unfortunately, many of those at risk of fuel poverty don’t know that help exists or may not understand the benefits.

We welcome applications from anyone with a positive attitude and desire to work to transform Croydon into a cleaner, greener fairer place.
