drylands@eastdevon.gov.uk 07812652336 Debs Rylands

Sectors: conservation & wildlife, ecology, environmental education

Closing date: Friday, 11th October 2019

To help wildlife in our neighbourhood, we need your expertise. You can help us to engage people, make spaces better for wildlife and for the community, provide your personal knowledge of our outdoor spaces and routes around town – your skills are necessary to help us to make Wild Exmouth a success which reaches people like you.

We are looking for a volunteer who is passionate about nature. Is this you? If so, you can help us to support biodiversity and make improvements in favour of key species, people and habitats.

Your passion and skill will help us to develop monitoring processes, support volunteer surveyors and gain quality data which will help us to appropriately direct our efforts in favour of wildlife.

Activities can include:

  • Mammal, invertebrate, bird or river and seaside surveys
  • Practical conservation
  • Water quality surveys
  • App design
  • Guided walks
  • Marketing
  • Administration
  • Events
  • Photography
  • Species identification
  • Pilates / Yoga / Fitness outdoors
  • Citizen Science
  • Your skills not listed above!

Previous experience is not necessary but attention to detail, willingness to work with others and an interest in people and nature are really useful.

Identification skills are not essential, but would be welcome.

We would welcome anyone with a specialist skill they would like to bring to the team.

  • We will meet with you to discuss your interests and match you to the best activities to help you to gain the experience you want from being involved with Wild Exmouth

Please contact the Wild Exmouth Ranger, Debs Rylands, to discuss this role or other ways of getting involved with Wild Exmouth or complete our online volunteer registration form:
