Surrey Wildlife Trust manages over 8000ha of land for wildlife across Surrey, including some of the county's top nature reserves. With the invaluable support of volunteers and members we work to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county and inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live.

We are offering an excellent training opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in conservation and land management. The successful applicant will receive a diverse range of practical training from heathland management, sustainable woodland management, to conservation grazing, along with more transferable skills.

Some flexibility exists around the role, dependent on candidates’ skills and availability. We offer a selection of external training covering outdoor first aid, brushcutter and NPTC chainsaw use, in addition to internal training including species ID, cattle welfare and habitat management.

Applicants must have some previous practical conservation experience, good communication skills, be computer literate, a good level of physical fitness, with a full driving licence. A relevant qualification is desired. Candidates must have a keen interest in the environment and be seeking a career in this field. Trainees anticipated commitment will be - 3 days per week, for 12 months.
