Closing date: Wednesday, 18th December 2019

Would you like to help reduce our impact on the environment by helping others save energy? You can acquire new skills and will be helping people to reduce their energy bills. It is far more than just switching energy suppliers.

After a short training session and practical exercises, you will make energy advice visits to private homes and premises used by community groups, accompanied by an experienced adviser acting as your mentor. You record each opportunity to save energy and compile a report with recommendations and a short list of energy saving tips. You will install energy saving equipment such as LED lights, insulation and reflective radiator foil.

Home visits are in the borough of Richmond in SW London, take 1 - 2 hours and run from Oct 2019 - Apr 2020. After a visit you create a report, working at home and at times that suit you. There may also be opportunities to visit community buildings in Richmond and Ealing.

Visits are scheduled to fit around your availability. We need several people for this role. Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed.

The organisation

This project is run by South West London Environment Network (SWLEN) a charity delivering energy advice. SWLEN also runs other projects that are not part of this role, such as giving support to local environmental groups. We believe that community involvement is the key to encouraging behaviour change.
