The RSPB is partnering with idverde, the UK’s largest grounds maintenance company, in Charnwood Borough. The aim of this partnership is to conserve biodiversity in parks and green spaces managed by idverde on behalf of Charnwood Borough Council, and empower the community to help their local wildlife.

We are looking for a communications volunteer to help promote all the conservation work done by volunteers throughout the Borough, to increase appreciation for Charnwood’s wildlife and green spaces’ and to promote volunteering opportunities. You will help raise the profile of the partnership and rally support for community-led conservation action in Charnwood.

You will use a variety of media to achieve this: social media, columns in the local paper, press releases. This won’t be a desk-based role: you will visit Charnwood’s parks and green spaces to take awe-inspiring photos and liaise with local volunteer groups to help them promote themselves.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the RSPB's social media work and be at the forefront of creative and innovative solutions to help Save Nature. You'll get to visit some beautiful places, meet new people, improve your social media, communications and people skills. This is a flexible role, which can fit around your schedule to suit you!

You will need to have good social media and written communications skills, as well as good people skills: friendly, tactful and diplomatic. You will need good photography skills, and to be enthusiastic about wildlife and nature conservation.
