Would you like to learn about wetland habitats at one of the fastest growing wetlands sites in Yorkshire? You really can watch nature progress in this role!

As the North Cave Wetlands Voluntary Trainee you will join the Reserves Programme Manager, helping with site management and administrative tasks, practical habitat management, plus have the opportunity to lead community and educational events and visits. Much of this will take place at North Cave Wetlands; however there will also be opportunities to get involved with tasks happening across our other reserves in the area.

You could be involved in:

  • Assisting with volunteer co-ordination and liaison.
  • Assisting with the creation of site interpretation and visitor works.
  • Be inspiring people to take action for wildlife.
  • Help plan and prepare for events and activities.
  • Help promote events and news.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of a wide range of activities.
  • Help with administration of events e.g. through data entry, recording of risk assessments.

You can gain experience in:

  • Practical Conservation Tasks on a variety of habitats
  • Reserve Management planning- using CMSi software
  • Experience of leading volunteer groups
  • Experience of partnership working

You'll have access to the internal volunteer training programme, your own training budget and travel expenses.

Time commitment: 2-3 days per week, duration 12 months
