6 Month Garden Intern – Polesden Lacey

Polesden Lacey is recruiting for a 6 month Volunteer Garden Intern position. You will become a key part of the Garden Team at Polesden Lacey and help the gardeners’ maintain and enhance the 30 acre Edwardian gardens. Working alongside our garden team you will provide our visitors with an inspirational visit and leave them wanting to come back time and time again.

You will be directly involved in leading on at least one exciting project as well as assisting with the day to day work in the gardens here. We will have a selection of projects available for you to choose from including design work, replanting projects, propagation and machinery use. A key part of the role is to have excellent communication with visitors to explain the need for and value of the work being carried out.

You will have an opportunity to learn valuable practical horticultural skills, will learn about the management of a Heritage Garden, have a chance to gain new industry standard qualifications whilst working here, gain an understanding of the work of the National Trust and develop skills for a future career in Horticulture.
