Bilingual Volunteer Climate Change Officer

Friends of the Earth Cymru

Volunteer • Part Time 02920229577 Bleddyn Lake

Sectors: carbon, climate & energy, environmental policy & campaigning

Closing date: Monday, 3rd June 2019

Concerned about climate change? Want to get involved? Enjoy organising events and actions? Interested to explore how the arts can be used to engage people in environmental issues?

Friends of the Earth Cymru is looking for a bilingual (Welsh and English) volunteer to help with our new climate change campaign and also our partnership work with the National Eisteddfod and other events in Wales in 2019.

Ideally, you will have had experience of organising small events and have an interest in the arts in Wales. Experience of using social media effectively to communicate issues in both languages is also beneficial.

The role will involve planning and organising events and actions at different summer events including at the National Eisteddfod in Llanrwrst this year.

The role is flexible and is suitable home working. You will be working with a friendly and enthusiastic small team of staff and volunteers to help communicate the work we do on climate change, plastics and other campaigns to help encourage people and communities to become active around these issues.

It would suit someone able to work on their own initiative and who has a keen interest in environmental issues. The work is flexible, typically a few hours per week and the successful applicant will become part of a team working on these exciting campaigns.
