Young Roots Volunteer – Growing Trafford’s Roots Project

Why we need you:  

We are looking for a volunteer to support our Growing Trafford’s Roots Project. This project engages young people with additional needs and/or disabilities in traditional food growing and historical market gardening in Trafford. The project will support young people to gain new skills, engage with their community and to get active outdoors.

  • Help young people develop skills and improve their physical and mental wellbeing though food growing and community activities
  • Gain skills and work experience in the environmental, horticultural and youth sector

What you need: 

  • Enthusiasm
  • Commitment to the project
  • Desire to work with young people in an outdoor setting
  • Willing to take on responsibility once trained
  • No formal experience required

How much time:  

We are looking for volunteers that can commit to supporting weekly youth gardening activity sessions for at least one day per week on either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.
