London Sustainability Exchange (LSx) is a “think and do” charity which creates collaborations that address the complex barriers to a sustainable London.

As part of our Brentford Together project, a three-year partnership project which encourages and promotes healthy living, we are looking for passionate volunteers to help design and promote a suite of free health and wellbeing activities to people in Brentford.

This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity to develop your own knowledge on health and wellbeing and also give back to the community while increasing your employability.

Job role:

  • Plan and promote your own community action plan
  • Enhance your communication skills by speaking with local residents and organisations in Brentford through a variety of mediums (email, face to face, social media etc.)
  • Develop marketing and communications skills by creating content and promoting events through social media platforms
  • Represent and promote the project at public events (for example, at local fairs, markets or schools)
  • Ensure services are delivered smoothly
  • Option to assist in delivering sessions

By volunteering as a Community Coordinator for Brentford, you will increase your employability by gaining:

  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Verbal communication skills
  • Good initiative in responding to varied tasks
  • A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Written communication skills
  • A qualification in Royal Society for Public Health level 1 or 2 (optional)

About the project:

Brentford Together is a three-year partnership project set up by London Sustainability Exchange (LSx) to encourage and promote healthy living and improve wellbeing in Brentford.

Location and hours:

  • Based in Brentford
  • Hours are largely flexible. Commitment to working 1 day per week, roughly for 2-4 hours would be ideal (reasonable expenses for food and travel will be covered)

No formal experience or qualifications are necessary. We will provide training in action planning, understanding of safeguarding and best practise for communicating with the public. Please note that we will conduct a DBS check.
