We need knowledgeable people to help us to monitor the breeding activity of some of the reserves most iconic species, whilst helping the visitors to the reserve enjoy the wildlife spectacle, and minimising disturbance.

This is an opportunity to develop field skills and make a great contribution to conservation. Gain valuable experience in specific species monitoring as well as public engagement skills. You will hone your existing skills with the support of the warden and visitor experience team and inspire visitors with your passion for wildlife.

You will need a  genuine interest in birds, wildlife and conservation. Some basic bird identification skill is essential, but no previous survey experience is necessary. You also need to have good people skills and be happy to approach and talk to a wide range of visitors to the reserve.

Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be reimbursed where necessary. The RSPB works for a healthy environment rich in birds and wildlife. It relies on the support and generosity of volunteers to make a difference. The RSPB is the UK Partner of the global federation of conservations organisations, BirdLife International.
