Why do you need me?

What activities will I be involved in?

Researching public health contacts nationally online and calling/emailing key public health managers and consultants to request their permission to hold details in order to provide regular Food for Life updates. Inviting these contacts to have a one to one meeting with Food for Life staff and scheduling those meetings. Recording such permissions on our internal customer relationship management system, such that Food for Life is GDPR compliant.

What skills and abilities will I need to have?

A methodical and organised approach to managing this project. A friendly and approachable manner that ensures being the first point of contact for Food for Life is the starting point for a longer-term relationship with individuals contacted.
An ability to sell the benefits of the Food for Life scheme in order to secure meetings between public health managers/consultants and FFL development managers.

What are the benefits for me?

This role offers a range of opportunities for someone looking to gain experience working with Soil Association, Food for Life or a charity. You will:

  • Gain hands on experience of working in a charity and be part of the Food for Life team and develop your own skills
  • Gain the opportunity to engage in & learn about other areas of our work
  • Receive a written reference when you finish volunteering with us

How much time should I offer?

Where will I be based? Will I need my own transport?

You will be based at our Head Office in Bristol: Spear House, 51 Victoria Street, Bristol, BS1 6AD.  You will not need your own transport for this role.

Is there an induction and training?

We will provide a full induction with opportunities to learn about the work of the Soil Association. You will get ongoing support and supervision from Adrian Roper, our Food for Life Regional Development Manager, as well as from the wider team.
