Volunteer with the Bat Conservation Trust this summer!

Every year the National Bat Helpline receives thousands of calls from members of the public who have found an injured or grounded bat. We are fast approaching the time of year when bats become more active, and our Helpline becomes very busy.

To help with this vital Helpline service on evenings and weekends, the Bat Conservation Trust organise an Out of Hours (OOH) Helpline from May to September. During this time, dedicated and passionate volunteers answer emergency calls from the public and put them in touch with local bat care volunteers. Full training is provided and volunteers typically assist with a few four hour ‘bat watches’ a month (depending on people’s availability). This is a great role for new volunteers and experienced bat workers alike.
