Help us help our local community, by spreading the word about RSPB Sandwell Valley, and giving engaging presentations!

RSPB Sandwell Valley is an enchanting urban green space located in the middle of a vibrant and diverse community. We have lots to offer: fun, educational activities for families, trails to exercise or relax, and opportunities to gain skills and confidence through volunteering and more. We are looking for volunteers to help us reach out to local people.

You will deliver engaging and inspiring talks about RSPB Sandwell Valley to local community groups, inspiring them to come and visit. The talks will cover a range of topics relating to the nature reserve, such as nature and wellbeing, the history of the site, and the wildlife of Sandwell Valley.

Opening people’s eyes to nature and helping them enjoy their local green spaces is very rewarding! You will be making a meaningful difference in your local community and support the work of RSPB Sandwell Valley. You will also have a valuable experience of working with an environmental charity. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe!

We are looking for someone with the “gift of the gab”! If you enjoy meeting new people, being in the spotlight, and are a confident speaker, this is the role for you. You need to be able to travel around the local area and work independently. Organised and reliable, you also need to have an interest in wildlife or the outdoors. If you have some knowledge of wildlife or the local area, it’s great! If you don’t though, don’t worry: we can help you pick this up after you start.

Some previous experience of working with the public is desirable but not necessary. All the training necessary and background information will be provided.
